This is the ancestral seat of the Clan MacLean who
still take up summer residence. A heady atmosphere
of bloodthirsty history. Tearoom. Additional nearby

to this romantic castle marooned in the middle of

Kilmartin -
Kilmartin Glen is one of the most important historic
sites in Europe. A few square miles is littered
with stone circles, burial chambers, castles and
the ancient capital of Dalriada - Dunadd. Go south
towards Lochgilphead. This area is littered with
standing stones and other ancient relics. Ancient
capital Dunadd is worth a visit with mysterious
footprint on the rocks. Great exhibition and visitor
centre at Kilmartin House (in village), an excellent
stop with first class café.
